Night Shift RN – Telemetry Unit
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced RN for a night shift telemetry role. You'll join a unit managing primarily cardiac and medical step-down patients, providing skilled nursing care during high-acuity overnight hours.
Shift & Schedule
- 3x12-hour nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Float required: As needed within the hospital and to nearby sister facilities
- Weekend coverage: Yes
- Contract duration: 17 weeks
- Start date: October 26, 2026
- Orientation: 12 hours
Patient Population & Clinical Scope
The unit serves adult and geriatric patients with a daily census of approximately 30. Common diagnoses include CHF, new-onset atrial fibrillation, COPD, and ia. You'll manage:
- Cardiac telemetry (on-unit and remote monitoring)
- Post-cardiac procedures and post-MI care
- Central lines and PICC line management
- Hemodynamic drips (heparin, dopamine, amiodarone, cardizem, nitroglycerin, Bumex per protocol—no insulin or titration required)
- Airway management (high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care)
- Chest tubes, surgical drains, and wound care
- Dysrhythmia recognition and management
Requirements
- License: Active PA or Compact license
- Experience: Minimum 1 year; charge experience preferred
- Certifications: Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
- Skills: IV management, ABG interpretation, phlebotomy, port access, CBI, feeding tube care, and seizure management
- Availability: Every other holiday
- Vaccines: Flu required (medical/religious exemptions considered); COVID-19 not required
Interdisciplinary Support
You'll collaborate with IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, social services, rapid response teams, and radiology.
