Telemetry / PCU — Travel RN | Greensburg, PA

13-Week Contract | Rotating Days & Nights | 3×12-Hour Shifts

This telemetry unit primarily manages adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and general medical diagnoses, with the possibility of mixed medical overflow. The unit functions at a step-down/PCU acuity level, supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.

Shift Details

• Day: 07:00–19:30 | Night: 19:00–07:30 (rotating)

• Weekend coverage required
• Floating within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius may be required

Clinical Scope

Nurses on this unit should be comfortable managing:

• Cardiac telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote)
• Vasoactive and cardiac drips (no titration): Heparin, Cardizem, Nitro, Amiodarone, Bumex, Dopamine
• Central line and PICC line care, port access, chest tubes, and surgical drains
• High Flow Nasal Cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care
• Blood product administration, PCA management, thrombolytic therapy (post-TPA care)
• Pre/post cardiac cath and post-MI patients, CVA management, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal

Requirements

• Active Pennsylvania or Compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience; travel experience required
• Certifications required (AHA only): ACLS, BLS, NIHSS — must be current at submission
• Charge experience preferred
• Electronic health record experience required
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Local candidates within 50 miles not accepted
