Med/Surg Travel Nurse — Greensburg, PA

13-Week Contract | Rotating 12-Hour Shifts | Days & Nights

This med/surg unit manages a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients across a broad range of medical and surgical diagnoses. The unit supports post-operative care for joint replacement, bariatric/weight loss surgery, and general surgery patients, as well as medical non-monitored diagnoses.

Shift Details

• Rotating days and nights: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM / 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• 4 weekend shifts per contract (every other weekend)
• Every other holiday required

Patient Care & Unit Scope

• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Floating within the facility and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius may be required

Required Skills Include

• Central line blood draw, PICC line management, port access
• Chest tube management, tracheostomy care, HFNC/BiPAP/CPAP
• Blood product administration, heparin, insulin, PCA management
• Wound care/wound vac, surgical drains, colostomy/ileostomy care
• Pre/post hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, renal failure management
• Dysrhythmia management, use of rapid response/code teams

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Active PA or Compact RN license at time of submission
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Electronic charting experience required; preference given to those with prior experience in similar systems
• Two supervisor references preferred
• Locals within 50 miles not accepted

Start Compliance

• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and required labs within 24–48 hours of signing
• All compliance cleared by Wednesday prior to start date
• Pre-start modules must be completed before entering the facility
