Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract | Burlington, NC

Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM; occasional 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM as needed)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: October 19, 2026

This Emergency Department serves patients across all age groups — neonates through geriatrics — in a high-acuity environment managing STEMI, stroke, sepsis, cancer-related emergencies, behavioral health crises, and complex medical emergencies. The department also supports women's health and cardiac catheterization services.

Schedule & Coverage

• No call required
• Up to every other weekend coverage
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Self-scheduling model

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale), PALS
• STARR / Behavioral Population certification

Clinical Skills Required

• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Ventilator care and central line management
• Continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
• Blood product administration
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Arterial blood gas interpretation
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• , ICP monitoring, and neuro-trauma care
• Phlebotomy and IV placement

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ED experience; first-time travelers welcome
• STEMI- and Stroke-certified facility experience required
• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• EKG competency exam required (2 attempts allowed)
• No local candidates within 50 miles
• Floating to other campus locations may be required
