Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract | Burlington, NC

Night Shift | 13-Week Assignment

This ED position supports a high-volume emergency department caring for patients of all ages — neonates through geriatrics. The unit manages a broad acuity range, with special care populations that include cancer, sepsis, acute behavioral health presentations, and general medical emergencies. The department also supports stroke and STEMI response protocols.

Schedule

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM; occasional 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM flexibility)
• Up to every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• No on-call obligation

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start: October 19, 2026

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• STARR / Behavioral Health population certification

Clinical Skills — Must Have

• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Ventilator care, central line management
• Continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
• Blood product administration
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• ABG and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Stroke (CVA) and STEMI facility experience
• , phlebotomy, and IV placement

Minimum Requirements

• 2 years of ED experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• No local candidates within 50 miles

Additional Notes

• Float to other campus locations may be required
• All RNs must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts permitted)
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Third-party education verification required
