Emergency Department RN — Highlands, NC

This contract opportunity places you in a community emergency department serving a mountain region with a seasonal patient population. The unit manages standard ED acuity with a close-knit nursing team on each shift.

Assignment Details

• Shift: 07:00–19:00 (Day)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Start Date: September 15, 2026

The Unit

This is a small, community-based ED staffed by two RNs on both day and night shifts. The department runs a mid-shift seasonal model from May through September to accommodate fluctuating volume. The team performs standard emergency department procedures with a strong emphasis on customer service and patient experience.

Required Certifications

• Active RN License
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS

Preferred Certifications

• TNCC
• ENPC
• NRP
• CEN, CPEN, or CTRN

Additional Details

• Dress Code: Navy scrubs
• Float: Occasional float to Med-Surg, though the facility minimizes this
• Weekends: Rotating; no on-call except during low-census flex situations
