Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) — Registered Nurse

Asheville, NC | Days | 13-Week Contract

This PICU assignment offers experienced pediatric critical care nurses the opportunity to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment managing critically ill infants and children. The unit also serves a stepdown patient population, providing variety in acuity and care complexity.

Shift & Schedule

• Must work 3 weekends per 6-week schedule
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Float requirement: potential to float to Pediatrics and NICU

Unit Support

• Health Unit Coordinator on-site 9 AM–9 PM
• Shared tech support

Clinical Scope

Procedures performed on this unit include IV starts, urinary catheterizations, LP holds, central line dressing changes, hemodynamic monitoring, tracheostomy care, tube feeding and placement, ICP monitoring, and ventilator management.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience
• Current PALS certification required
• Active RN license

Dress Code

All navy, all white, or navy pants with white tops

This is a demanding and rewarding role suited for nurses who thrive in pediatric critical care and are comfortable managing both intensive and stepdown-level patients within the same assignment.
