Emergency Department RN — Asheville, NC

Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 16-Week Contract

A busy Emergency Department in Asheville, NC is seeking an experienced RN for a 16-week night shift contract. This high-volume ED serves a richly diverse, multicultural patient population — with over 120 languages spoken in the surrounding community — and is known for its strong teamwork culture and welcoming staff.

Unit Overview

• High-volume emergency department with broad clinical scope
• Patient population includes medical, behavioral health holds, stroke, and trauma cases
• Techs available in cardiac monitoring and internal processing areas; unit clerks on both days and nights
• Float within all sections of the ED required; no floating outside the department

Schedule

• Night shift: 18:45–07:15
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling is not available; scheduling must meet departmental needs

Required Certifications (must be current prior to submission)

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, ENPC
• CPI required prior to start date

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; at least 1 year in an emergency room setting
• Preferred: experience in a high-volume ED, comprehensive stroke center, or trauma environment
• Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED

• Consistent board updates and respectful, patient-centered interactions throughout each visit
