Progressive Care / Step-Down RN — Night Shift | Asheville, NC

Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

About the Unit

This combined step-down and med-surg unit manages a diverse patient population requiring intermediate to general acute care. The step-down side focuses on higher-acuity patients, including those on cardiac drips, with stable ventilated patients, and patients requiring tracheostomy management. Common procedures include trach care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes.

Schedule & Expectations

• Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Weekend requirement: 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts per 6-week period
• Float potential to other med-surg and progressive care units

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Demonstrated experience with tracheostomy care (required)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior step-down or progressive care experience
• Familiarity with electronic health records
