PCU / Stepdown

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — Registered Nurse

Asheville, NC | Nights | 13-Week Contract

This night-shift PCU travel position supports a busy progressive care unit managing neuro and trauma patients at a higher acuity level. The unit provides step-down level care with an emphasis on neurological and spinal conditions.

Shift & Schedule

• 18:45–07:15 (night shift)
• Every other weekend required
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Clinical Scope & Procedures

• Neuro and spinal assessments
• C-collar placement and TLSO brace management
• Chest tube management
• PCA pump administration
• IV infusions and blood transfusions
• Lumbar drain care
• Feeding tube placement
• Tracheostomy care

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

Required Experience

• Neuro and/or trauma care background is mandatory — candidates without this experience will not be considered

Floating

• May float to stepdown or med-surg units as needed

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs

Ideal Candidate

A team-oriented, patient-focused RN who is comfortable managing complex neuro and trauma patients in a fast-paced step-down environment and can adapt across similar unit types when needed.
