Progressive Care Unit — Travel RN | Asheville, NC
This is a 13-week night shift contract (18:45–07:15) on a Progressive Care Unit in Asheville, NC, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week.
Unit Overview
The PCU focuses on neurological and trauma patients requiring close monitoring and intermediate-level acuity care. The team is fast-paced and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on patient-centered practice.
Clinical Scope & Procedures
- Neuro and spinal assessments
- C-collar placement and TLSO brace management
- Chest tube and lumbar drain care
- PCA pump and IV infusion management
- Feeding tube placement
- Blood transfusions
Required Certifications
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
Required Experience
- Neuro and/or trauma care experience is mandatory — candidates without this background will not be considered
Schedule & Expectations
- Night shift: 18:45–07:15
- Every other weekend required
- Float to stepdown or med-surg units as needed
