Progressive Care Unit – RN (Night Shift)
Position Overview
Join the Progressive Care Unit as a Registered Nurse on the night shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM). This 13-week contract offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality care to patients recovering from acute illness, trauma, and neurological events.
About the Unit
The Progressive Care Unit specializes in step-down care for patients transitioning from intensive care or managing complex acute conditions. You'll care for patients requiring close monitoring, including those post-trauma, post-surgical, and with neurological injuries. The unit focuses on neuro and spinal assessments, chest tube management, lumbar drain care, and other advanced nursing interventions.
What You'll Do
- Perform detailed neuro and spinal checks
- Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, and IV infusions
- Assist with procedures including C-collar placement, TLSO bracing, lumbar drain placement, and blood transfusions
- Work in a collaborative, team-based environment with nursing leadership, CNAs, and unit coordinators
- Float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed
Requirements
- Current RN license
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications (required)
- Neuro and trauma care experience (must-have)
- Willingness to work every other weekend
Position Details
- 4 shifts per week (nights)
- Navy blue scrubs
- Guaranteed 48 hours per week
