Medical-Surgical Nurse – Float Pool
Position Details
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (nights, 12-hour)
- Schedule: 4 days per week
- Location: Wichita, KS
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 per week
About the Role
You'll float across multiple medical-surgical units within the Wichita market, responding to patient census and acuity needs. Each shift, you'll call in and receive assignment to the unit with highest demand. This role offers variety, flexibility, and the opportunity to build skills across different patient populations and care settings.
Clinical Scope
Work with medical and surgical patients across multiple units, providing direct patient care, monitoring, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Current RN license (verification via Nursys required at submission)
- Proficiency with electronic charting systems
- 2 professional references
- Background check and drug screening
- Immunization compliance (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, TB testing, influenza)
- Fit testing and core competency assessments (completed during onboarding)
What to Expect
Standard onboarding includes skills validation, EKG assessment, competency verification, and system training. You'll be positioned to make immediate clinical impact across a dynamic float pool serving multiple patient care areas.
