Labor & Delivery RN — Travel Contract | Rochester, NY

This 13-week travel assignment places an experienced Labor & Delivery RN in an active, family-centered birthing unit serving pregnant patients at any gestational age. The unit also provides for postpartum patients within six weeks of delivery, with both OB and midwifery care models in place.

Schedule

• 4x12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights)
• Day shift: 07:00–19:00 | Night shift: 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement
• Holiday coverage every other holiday, as needed

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Active New York Single State RN license (NY is not Compact; must be in hand at submission)
• OB-ACLS or ACLS, BLS, EFM certification, NRP
• Minimum 1 year of L&D experience
• Electronic charting experience required (hard requirement)

Clinical Skills

• Vaginal delivery assistance; C-section circulation and recovery
• Magnesium Sulfate therapy; Pitocin/oxytocin and Terbutaline administration
• APGAR scoring; newborn/baby catcher responsibilities
• External fetal monitoring (EFM) and IUPC placement and calibration
• Non-stress testing (NST); pregnancy-induced hypertension management
• Postpartum hemorrhage response; fundus, lochia, and perineum care
• Foley catheter insertion and management; radiant warmer/thermoregulation
• ID/security banding; post-partum hemorrhage protocols

Additional Details

• Floating within skillset required
• Scrubs provided by the facility
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Orientation: approximately 36 hours
