Travel Nurse – Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation | Napa, CA
Day Shift | 13-Week Contract
This acute inpatient rehabilitation unit cares for adults and geriatric patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, pulmonary conditions, lower extremity amputations, and multi-trauma. Patients participate in a structured three-hour daily therapy program combining physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology based on their rehab diagnosis.
Shift & Schedule
- Days, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- Call may be required depending on patient census
- Holiday commitment required (3 of 5: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Float
Possible float to medical-surgical and orthopedic units. Refusal to float may impact guaranteed hours.
Clinical Skills Required
- Central line and PICC line care
- Tracheostomy care and management
- Feeding tube and PEG tube management
- Anticoagulation and insulin protocols
- Blood and blood product administration
- Wound care and pressure ulcer prevention
- Stroke scale assessment
- Swallowing precautions and thickened liquids
- Seizure and neuromuscular disorder management
- Oral/nasotracheal suctioning
Interdisciplinary Support
Physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, phlebotomy, and rapid response teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of acute inpatient rehab experience (hard stop)
- Minimum 2 years of overall RN experience
- Active California RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
- BLS required
- Scrub color: royal blue
- Orientation: 40 hours
