Med Surg Tele

Med/Surg Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Wilmington, NC

This 13–26 week contract places you on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including diabetes, COPD, ia, sepsis, GI bleed, encephalopathy, dementia, anemia, hip fracture, and COVID-19. The unit includes a dedicated isolation area for COVID patients.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 18:45–07:15 (3×12-hour shifts)
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• 12–16 weekend shifts per contract; must cover 2 of 3 major holidays

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg or Telemetry experience
• EKG testing must be passed prior to start
• Competency in: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, heparin drips, PCA, blood product administration, PICC/central/peripheral line care, phlebotomy, feeding tube management, colostomy care, pre/post hemodialysis management, wound care/wound vac, HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, non-invasive airway management, chest tube management, and isolation precautions

Preferred Skills

• Port access, tracheostomy management, ABG interpretation, CVA care, surgical drain management

Certifications

• BLS required

Additional Details

• Scrubs: Navy/Blue or White
• Orientation: 24 hours (hospital orientation during week one; daily class attendance required)
• Floating within or near the facility is required
• RTO: up to 7 days, pre-approved only; no RTO during week one; no additional RTO requests after signing
• Contract staff may be assigned to Storm/Hurricane Teams and should be prepared to report during catastrophic or mass casualty events
• NC or compact license required; locals accepted at an adjusted rate
