Med/Surg Telemetry — Travel RN | Kingsport, TN

Nights | 13-Week Contract

This night-shift Med/Surg Telemetry position supports a general medical-surgical unit caring primarily for adolescent and adult patients requiring continuous telemetry monitoring. The unit provides a full range of interdisciplinary services including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, radiology, phlebotomy, and social services.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Schedule options: 3x12 or 4x12 per week
• Every other weekend required; no call required
• Float required

Clinical Skills Required

• Telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• IV insertion and peripheral/central line care, PICC line management
• Blood product administration, heparin and insulin management
• Feeding tube care, colostomy/ileostomy care, PCA management
• Phlebotomy, port access, isolation precautions

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg and Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• AHA BLS and ACLS required (AHA certification only accepted)
• First-time travelers welcome
• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required

Compliance Notes

• Relias basic EKG test must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance (two attempts allowed)
• Drug screening required 12–14 days prior to start date
• Orientation begins Sundays with online modules (~4–5 hours, non-billable)
• Fit testing required; facial hair must meet CDC guidelines

Clinicians on this assignment are expected to actively support nursing student education alongside their clinical care responsibilities.
