Operating Room RN – Cardiac & General Surgery

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week contract. You'll work in a busy surgical environment supporting a diverse range of high-acuity procedures across multiple specialties.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
• Every other weekend call requirement
• 1 day of call per week; 1–2 weekends per 4–5 week rotation (30-minute response time)
• Orientation held every other Friday
• 36 guaranteed hours per week

Required Experience & Credentials

• Minimum 2 years RN experience; 1 year in-specialty cardiac and general surgery
• Current WV or Compact RN License (pending licenses accepted)
• BLS certification
• Both circulate and scrub experience required
• Valid Driver's License

Clinical Skills & Procedures

You must be proficient in:

• Cardiac & Vascular: CABG, valve replacements, aortic/femoral bypass, AV fistulas, carotid procedures, embolectomies
• General & Colorectal: Whipples, liver resections, colon resections, laparoscopic-assisted cases
• Ortho: Arthroscopies, total joint replacements
• ENT: Tracheostomies, laryngectomies, radical neck dissections
• Urology: Cystectomies, nephrectomies, prostatectomies
• Robotics: Colorectal, gynecologic, hernia, Nissen procedures
• GYN: Abdominal/vaginal hysterectomies, anterior/posterior repairs

Additional Requirements

• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only; October–March flu season)
• Must reside within 100-mile radius (75–99 miles requires facility approval)
• Scrubs: Royal blue or white
• Submit complete file by noon Monday prior to start date
