Medical/Surgical Telemetry – Travel RN | Night Shift | Maryville, TN

This inpatient unit specializes in stroke and TIA care while also managing higher-acuity medical/surgical patients. The team is strongly focused on patient experience and delivers a broad range of complex clinical care.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 18:45–07:15 | 3×12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• 13-week contract | Start: October 2026

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

Adults and geriatrics presenting with stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, ia, chest pain, CHF, sepsis, encephalopathy, acute kidney failure, respiratory failure, and post-heart cath recovery. The unit performs peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation.

Required Skills

• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Blood product administration, cardiac drip management (no titration)
• Central line blood draw, PICC line management
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Wound care/wound vac, feeding tube management, PCA
• Colostomy/ileostomy care, chest tube management
• Substance withdrawal and isolation precautions

Requirements

• Active Tennessee RN license
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (all required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Previous charge experience required
• Travel experience required; no first-time travelers
• Electronic health records proficiency: minimum 1 year required

Float & Additional Notes

• Float to other units/campuses based on census and verified competencies
• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions
• Pre-assignment modules required within 48 hours of contract signing (up to 16 billable hours)
• Orientation held every Monday
