Medical-Surgical Float Pool RN | Boston, MA | 8-Week Contract

This float pool position supports a broad range of medical-surgical units, offering exposure to diverse patient populations and clinical specialties. Travel RNs rotate across units covering neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, GU, orthopedics (hips and joints), oncology, transplant (liver and kidney), and vascular services.

Shift & Schedule

• Rotating combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts, covering days, evenings, and nights
• Every 4-week period includes one week with one 12-hour shift and three 8-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required; holiday availability required
• No on-call required
• Guaranteed 72 hours biweekly

Clinical Scope

• 12-lead EKGs, telemetry monitoring, blood transfusions, Lasix drips
• Respiratory therapy manages ventilators; RN administers nebulizers

Assignment Details

• Start date: February 1st
• 8-week contract
• Float pool assignment; unit placement occurs over 2–3 week periods; occasional assignments given 2 hours before shift start
• Orientation held weekly every Monday (excluding holidays)
• Any color scrubs accepted
• Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
• All RTO requests must be submitted at time of application; maximum 3 RTO days; no holiday RTO approved

Required Qualifications

• Active MA RN license
• 3+ years of nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS (AHA)
• Teaching hospital or specialty area experience preferred
