Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Unit
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for a medical/surgical unit in Wichita, Kansas. This is a 90-week contract position offering 48 guaranteed hours per week on a day shift schedule.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (12-hour shifts)
- Days: Every other weekend; no on-call duties
- Holidays: Holiday coverage required
Clinical Role
You'll provide direct patient care in a high-acuity medical/surgical setting. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, wound care, post-operative management, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. You may be asked to float to similar units on the same campus or at other locations within Wichita to support staffing needs.
Requirements
- Current RN license (verification required)
- ACLS certification or ability to obtain during onboarding
- Ability to pass facility health screening requirements, including:
- Immunizations (MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap)
- TB screening (2-step PPD or IGRA)
- Background check and drug screening
- Fit testing for respiratory protection
- Professional references (2 required)
