Float Pool Nurse — Telemetry/Med-Surg | Brighton, MA
Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: October 5, 2026
Shift: Mixed mid-shift schedule — two shifts 3:00 PM–11:30 PM and two shifts 7:00 AM–7:30 PM per week (40 hours/week) | Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
About the Role
This float pool position supports multiple medical-surgical and specialty units, requiring flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly across diverse patient populations. Units covered include:
- Med-Surg (orthopedics, urology, neurology, GYN)
- Cardiology/Telemetry
- Surgery
- Cardio-Thoracic
Candidates must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry strips and will be required to pass an on-site telemetry competency exam on Day 1 with a score of 84% or higher (two attempts allowed).
Requirements
- 4+ years of recent acute care experience
- Stepdown experience required
- At least one completed travel nursing contract
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Psychiatric nursing experience strongly preferred
- 5+ years of float pool experience preferred
Schedule Notes
- Most Fridays are required
- No extended time-off requests accommodated (maximum 5 RTO days per contract)
- No specific scheduling requests honored
