Med Surg Tele

Med-Surg/Telemetry RN — Travel Contract | Greensboro, NC

Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 13-Week Contract

This telemetry-capable Med-Surg unit primarily serves adult and geriatric patients across a broad range of diagnoses. The unit offers a well-rounded clinical environment with strong interdisciplinary support.

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

• Observation and general medical-surgical patients
• Respiratory conditions and management
• Palliative, end-of-life, and hospice care
• Psychiatric observation
• Diabetes management, including newly diagnosed patients and complication care
• Surgical and surgical observation patients

Skills Utilized

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Blood product administration
• PICC and peripheral line management
• Pre/post hemodialysis management
• Wound care and wound VAC
• Chest tube, feeding tube, and surgical drain care
• Rapid Response and Code team utilization

Schedule & Float

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, every other weekend required
• Holidays as needed
• Float required across health system campuses when census is low

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• First-time travelers welcome
• No local candidates within 50 miles
• RTO must be submitted with application; no post-submission requests accepted
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Scrub color not specified. Orientation is approximately 48 hours, with additional non-billable unit-based modules averaging 2–4 hours.
