Registered Nurse – Mother Baby Unit

Position Overview

Join the postpartum unit for a 13-week contract assignment. You'll provide compassionate care to postpartum women and newborns in a fast-paced mother-baby environment.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Schedule: Typically includes 2 hard-to-staff shifts (Monday/Friday) and 1 full weekend every 3 weeks, plus 1 additional weekend
• On-call: None required
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week

Clinical Scope

You'll care for women of childbearing age and newborns across postpartum, LDRP, well-baby nursery, and recovery settings. Responsibilities include attending births, providing postpartum and newborn assessments, discharge education, pain management, and recognizing risk factors such as sepsis, VTE/DVT, malignant hyperthermia, pressure injury, and suicide risk. You'll perform circumcisions and manage patient prioritization based on acuity.

Patient Assignment

Patient ratios: 6–8 patients per shift

Floating

Float assignments within women's services; may include pediatrics and NICU if cross-trained.

Requirements

• Current RN license (BSN preferred)
• BLS certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Ability to recognize abnormal findings and manage time effectively

Uniform

Black scrub pants with Caribbean blue scrub top, vest, or jacket
