Outpatient Infusion Nurse — Burlington, MA

13-Week Contract | 4 × 10-Hour Days | Every 3rd Saturday Required

This position is based in an ambulatory infusion center serving adult patients with hematologic, oncologic, and medical diagnoses requiring outpatient infusion services. The unit operates with 25 infusion chairs and sees a high daily patient volume, with each nurse typically managing 2–3 chairs per shift. APP coverage is provided through an attached hematology/oncology clinic.

Clinical Scope

• Chemotherapy and medical infusion administration
• Blood transfusions and phlebotomy
• Accessing and deaccessing implanted vascular access devices (IVADs)
• PICC line management and peripheral IV insertion
• Use of infusion pumps and CADD pumps for home infusion therapy

Schedule & Contract Details

• Shift: 10-hour days, four days per week
• Every 3rd Saturday required
• Guaranteed hours: 72 biweekly (excludes on-call time)
• Orientation: 1 week; required learning and competencies assigned prior to arrival
• Floating to an alternate site is rare but possible based on staffing needs
• Contract start: November 2, 2026

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of chemotherapy administration experience
• ONS chemotherapy provider card (active)
• BLS – American Heart Association
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Electronic health record proficiency required

Important Notes

• The infusion room is closed on select holidays; these dates are predetermined
• Time-off requests submitted at the time of application will not be approved
• Candidates must have been separated from the hiring health system for 6+ months and be in good standing to be considered
