Orthopedic OR Nurse – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Orthopedic OR Nurse for a 13-week contract in a busy surgical environment. You'll work 10-hour day shifts (7 AM–5 PM) with 2 on-calls per month, providing perioperative care for orthopedic trauma, general surgery, and related specialties.
Requirements
- Current Massachusetts RN License
- BLS Certification
- Minimum orthopedic OR experience (trauma and general cases required; neuro a plus)
- Current O.R. experience with demonstrated competency in aseptic technique
- Proficiency operating complex surgical equipment (endoscopic, laser, orthopedic, neuro, thoracic, vascular, and general surgical instruments)
- Travel nursing experience required
- Flu vaccination required prior to start (medical exemption acceptable)
Contract Details
- 72 guaranteed hours biweekly
- 4 days on / 3 days off scheduling
- Maximum 3 consecutive days off approved per contract period
- No float required
- Immediate start; ASAP onboarding preferred
Pre-Assignment Requirements
You will be required to pass two proctored online tests (administered within 48 hours of offer) covering:
- ECG/Telemetry Interpretation (20 questions)
- Medication Knowledge (20 questions)
- Passing score: 85% — one attempt only, no remediation available
Candidate Restrictions
- Must reside outside 50 miles of the facility
- No previous assignment at this facility within the last 6 months
