RN – Telemetry – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for a telemetry unit in Simi Valley, California. This is a 13-week contract position working nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours guaranteed).
Clinical Setting
You will deliver coordinated nursing care to patients on a telemetry unit, managing cardiac monitoring and acute care patients. You'll supervise assigned nursing staff, coordinate interdisciplinary care, and apply critical thinking and clinical judgment in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze patient assessment data; develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor patients' cardiac status and respond to clinical changes
- Supervise and direct nursing staff; delegate tasks appropriately
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure safe, compassionate care
- Educate patients and families; participate in discharge planning
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Current BLS certification from an approved vendor
- Current ACLS certification
- Current PALS certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale certification
- At least two years recent acute care experience
- Experience with the hospital's electronic health record system
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
