Registered Nurse – Outpatient Surgery & Endoscopy

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced RN to join its outpatient surgery and endoscopy team. You'll provide direct nursing care in a fast-paced perioperative environment, managing pre-operative assessments, moderate sedation support, and Phase II post-anesthesia care recovery. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent patient communication, and the ability to adapt quickly to high patient turnover.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: Monday–Friday, 4 x 10-hour shifts
• Hours: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM (start time may vary slightly between 5:30 AM–11:00 AM based on case volume)
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Guaranteed Hours: 40/week

Clinical Focus

You'll care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures and outpatient surgery, including pre-operative open-heart and total joint patients. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing patient data, developing individualized care plans, implementing interventions, coordinating multidisciplinary care, managing patient education, and participating in discharge planning.

Required Qualifications

• California RN license (current and active)
• Minimum 2 years recent nursing experience
• BLS certification (current)
• ACLS and PALS certifications (AHA or ARC)
• Endoscopy experience (required)
• Outpatient surgery and perioperative experience (strongly preferred)
• Comfort with pre-op and Phase II PACU workflows
• Experience with moderate sedation and rapid patient turnover
• Familiarity with common electronic health record systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Acute care facility background
