Registered Nurse – Night Shift (OB/GYN)
Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our obstetrics and gynecology unit. You'll deliver coordinated nursing care to women during labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and gynecological procedures. This is a supervisory role—you'll lead and direct nursing staff while collaborating with physicians, midwives, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (night shift)
- 36 or 48-hour weeks available
- 13-week contract
- Float required to facility in Bakersfield as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and analyze patient health data; develop individualized care plans
- Implement care strategies and evaluate patient progress toward outcomes
- Supervise and delegate to nursing staff; coordinate care across disciplines
- Provide patient and family education on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and procedures
- Participate in discharge planning and continuity of care
- Maintain a safe, healing environment; promote patient safety and wellbeing
Required Qualifications
- Current RN licensure (state of practice)
- Minimum 2 years recent acute care nursing experience
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- AHA-NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) or ARC-NALS
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- STABLE certification (for maternal/neonatal stabilization)
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
