NICU Travel Nurse — Cincinnati, OH
13-Week Contract | Rotating 12-Hour Shifts
This high-acuity NICU position offers rotating day and night shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM / 7:00 PM–7:30 AM) in a specialized neonatal unit managing complex surgical, gastrointestinal, respiratory, and neurological conditions. The unit is affiliated with a regional Fetal Care Center and maintains a high volume of intubated and critically ill neonates.
Patient Population
Neonates and infants presenting with conditions including Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Intraventricular Hemorrhage, Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia, Necrotizing Enterocolitis, Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, Gastroschisis, Omphalocele, Myelomeningocele, Pulmonary Hypertension, Seizure Disorders, and more.
Clinical Skills & Equipment
Candidates must be comfortable with mechanical ventilation, tracheostomy care, nitric oxide therapy, high-flow nasal cannula, bubble CPAP, oscillators, arterial lines, peritoneal dialysis, EVDs, shunts, G-tubes, and bili light therapy.
Requirements
- Active Ohio or Compact RN license (required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
- Vent and trach experience required; pediatric experience preferred
- Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS
- Supervisor reference within the past 2 years
- Float requirement: similar neonatal assignments within the hospital system
Schedule & Details
- 3×12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights)
- 36-hour orientation
- Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to local pay rates
