Medical-Surgical RN — Travel Contract | Wheeling, WV
Shift: 12-hour days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 36 hours guaranteed per week
Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: September 24, 2026
About the Unit
This general medical-surgical unit manages a diverse adult patient population with common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, ia, urosepsis, AKI, cellulitis, and rule-out surgical conditions such as cholecystitis and appendicitis. The unit is supported by PCTs and uses remote telemetry monitoring.
Clinical Details
- RNs may titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results
- Intermittent BIPAP support; no ventilator management required
- One charge RN on the floor, carrying an assignment
Scheduling
- 12-hour day shifts; weekends scheduled as needed (typically half of total weekends)
- Holidays scheduled as needed; no on-call or standby requirement
- Travelers float first based on census needs
- Cancellation policy: up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license (WV or compact)
- BLS (AHA)
- NIHSS certification
- Copy of unexpired driver's license required at submission
- Any licensing history (hits) must be disclosed at time of submission
- Must reside or be willing to work within a 50-mile radius of the facility
