Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN to join a high-acuity, fast-paced team. You will provide direct patient care across a full spectrum of emergent and urgent conditions, working in a dynamic environment that demands clinical excellence, quick decision-making, and strong collaborative skills.
Key Responsibilities
- and rapidly assess incoming patients to determine acuity and prioritize care
- Provide comprehensive nursing interventions for trauma activations, codes, and acute deterioration
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures per physician orders and established protocols
- Monitor and manage patients through admission, transfer, and discharge
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the interdisciplinary team on individualized plans of care
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure patient safety and infection control protocols
- Support efficient patient flow in a high-volume setting
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience
- Demonstrated competency with protocols and high-acuity environments
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN degree
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
