Med Surg

Med/Surg RN – Neuro Med/Surg Unit | Nashville, TN | Nights

This 13-week travel contract places you on a Neuro Med/Surg unit caring for a neurologically focused patient population. The unit manages a range of acuities, with nursing staff expected to prioritize complex care needs, manage multiple patients efficiently, and maintain strong patient and family communication.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)
• 3 shifts per week | 36 guaranteed hours
• 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule

Clinical Scope

• IV insertion, basic wound care
• Maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Telemetry monitoring and continuous pulse oximetry
• Bedside shift report; patient and family involvement in care planning

Staffing Support

• Tech support available on both day and night shifts
• Unit secretary on days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Float Policy

• Contract staff float first; rotation applies when multiple contract staff are scheduled

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• Med/Surg experience required; neuro experience a plus
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Dress Code

• Navy scrubs, tops and bottoms
