Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care services on the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You'll work with adult and geriatric patients across multiple units, managing both routine and critical respiratory conditions. This is a 52-week contract position.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic and critical respiratory care services, including oxygen and aerosol therapy administration
- Assess and document the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapies; make clinical recommendations as needed
- Draw arterial blood gases per protocol and physician orders
- Manage ventilator patients and provide ongoing care monitoring
- Complete electronic medical records, flow sheets, and charge documentation
- Work autonomously while also supervising and training new staff as delegated
- Contribute to departmental operations and record-keeping
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license (California)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum two years recent field experience
- Ability to work independently and manage a night shift schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- Three or more years technical experience
- NRP, PALS, or PEARS certification
