Night Shift | 13-Week Contract | 36 Hours/Week
This Labor & Delivery travel position is based at an acute care facility in Templeton, CA — a charming community nestled among oak trees, with beaches just minutes away at Cambria and Morro Bay.
About the Role
The unit operates under an LDRP model, providing comprehensive nursing care across the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods. You'll manage patients through all stages of the perinatal experience, including circulating for C-sections and responding to obstetric emergencies.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform physical and psychosocial assessments with consideration for cultural differences and age-specific needs
- Manage perinatal emergencies including crash C-sections, precipitous deliveries, and shoulder dystocia
- Assess fetal and maternal well-being, including amniotic fluid status and vaginal bleeding
- Support and manage epidural placement and monitor maternal/fetal response
- Develop and implement multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans
- Educate patients and families throughout the perinatal and postpartum periods
Shift Details
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (36 hrs/week, rotating)
- Note: This role will initially begin on day shift (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) during an internal transition period; flexibility to cover both shifts during this time is required. No call required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience
- Active RN license (CA or compact)
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications required
- ADN required; BSN preferred
