Labor & Delivery RN — Templeton, CA
Night Shift | 13-Week Contract
This Labor & Delivery position is based at a community hospital in Templeton, CA, serving the northern San Luis Obispo County area. The unit operates on an LDRP model, providing care to patients across the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum continuum.
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week, rotating shifts
- No call required
Clinical Scope
- Comprehensive maternal-fetal assessment and management throughout all stages of labor and delivery
- Emergency perinatal response, including crash C-sections, precipitous delivery, and shoulder dystocia
- C-section circulating responsibilities
- Fetal monitoring, amniotic fluid assessment, vaginal bleeding evaluation, and abnormality management
- Pain management for laboring patients, including assistance with epidural catheter placement and post-administration monitoring
- Patient and family education across the perinatal and postpartum periods
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
- Current RN license (state of practice)
- BLS, ACLS, NRP — all required
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
