Labor & Delivery RN — Templeton, CA

Night Shift | 13-Week Contract | 36 Hours/Week

This Labor & Delivery position is based in a community acute care facility in Templeton, CA, serving patients across the full perinatal spectrum in an LDRP model. The unit provides care during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency situations and circulating for cesarean sections.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, rotating schedule
• 36 hours per week; no on-call required
• Note: This position will begin on day shift (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) while internal staffing transitions are completed, then move to permanent nights. Flexibility to work both shifts during this transition is required.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Comprehensive fetal and maternal assessment, including amniotic fluid status, vaginal bleeding evaluation, and fetal monitoring interpretation
• Management of perinatal emergencies: crash C-section, precipitous delivery, shoulder dystocia
• Pain management for laboring patients, including epidural catheter assistance and monitoring
• Patient and family education throughout all stages of the perinatal and postpartum periods
• Delegation and supervision of ancillary personnel within scope of practice

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current CA RN license
• BLS, ACLS, NRP
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring

Experience & Education

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred
