Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Respiratory Therapist to deliver critical respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients. You'll work independently and provide oversight to team members as assigned, managing the full scope of respiratory therapy in a community acute care setting.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Assess and document the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapies; make recommendations to physicians as indicated.
• Administer aerosol and oxygen therapy; manage ventilator patients.
• Draw arterial blood gases per policy and physician orders.
• Perform drainage procedures and provide specialized care for cardio-respiratory disease.
• Participate in department record-keeping, training, and supervision of new staff.
• Educate nursing personnel on patient surveillance and equipment operation post-installation.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Current NBRC-RRT or NBRC-CRT credential.
• Current RCP license (state-specific).
• Current BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications (or obtain within 90 days of hire).
• Minimum 2 years recent respiratory therapy experience, including NICU and pediatric care.
• Ability to intubate.

Schedule & Duration

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week.
• Rotating weekends.
• 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week.
