Physical Therapist Assistant – Day Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for a 13-week contract beginning October 12, 2026. This is a balanced role combining inpatient and outpatient care in an acute-care setting.
Schedule & Location
- Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (5×8 hours)
- Location: Laurinburg, NC
- No weekends or holidays required
- Bi-weekly orientation starts Mondays
Clinical Scope
You'll work with adult and geriatric patients across multiple specialties:
- Orthopedic conditions (total joint replacements, fractures, post-op shoulder and spine repairs)
- Neurological diagnoses (stroke rehabilitation, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury)
- Cardiac and post-surgical recovery
- Chronic conditions (COPD, heart failure, peripheral vascular disease)
Responsibilities
- Inpatient: 65% productivity; manage acute-care patients
- Outpatient: 8 patients per day; one-hour treatment slots
- Float within the facility as needed
- Deliver therapeutic interventions including gait training, mobility assistance, pain management, and patient/family education
Requirements
- Valid North Carolina PT license (or compact state license)
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
- Two professional references completed within two years (supervisory capacity required)
- Current COVID-19 vaccination (medical/religious exemptions available with facility form)
