Labor and Delivery Nurse – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Labor and Delivery nurse to deliver coordinated, compassionate care to obstetric patients and their families. You'll work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to manage labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care in a supportive acute care setting.
Shift & Schedule
- 4 x 12-hour day shifts (approximately 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor laboring patients, including intermediate fetal monitoring
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Coordinate care with obstetric, anesthesia, and pediatric teams
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families
- Participate in discharge planning and postpartum care
- Supervise and delegate tasks to nursing support staff
- Maintain a safe, healing environment
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in California
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum 2 years recent Labor and Delivery experience
- Level 2 NICU experience required
- Current certifications: BLS/CPR, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation), ACLS
- Intermediate fetal monitoring experience
- Intermediate fetal monitoring experience essential
