Cardiac and Vascular Special Procedures Technologist
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Cardiac and Vascular Special Procedures Technologist to perform and assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular imaging procedures. You'll operate advanced imaging equipment in a busy cardiovascular lab, working alongside interventional cardiologists and radiologists to deliver high-quality diagnostic care.
Core Responsibilities
- Operate diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast-enhanced radiographs during cardiac catheterizations and interventional procedures
- Position and immobilize patients using established protocols to ensure diagnostic accuracy
- Assist physicians with specialized cardiovascular procedures
- Mentor and train technical staff on specialized skills
- Contribute to hiring and promotion decisions
Shift & Schedule
- Primary shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Alternative shifts available: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM, 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Call requirements: After-hours call and every-other-weekend coverage; 2 weeknights per week
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
Required Qualifications
- Current Radiologic Technologist (RT) license in California
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Fluoroscopy certification
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification
- Violence prevention certification (PVMB, TEAM, CPI, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in cardiac/vascular imaging or special procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in radiologic technology
- 3+ years technical experience
- Prior special procedures technologist experience
