Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join the critical care and neonatal intensive care teams on a night shift schedule. You'll provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult, geriatric, and neonatal patients in a community-focused acute care setting.
Shift & Schedule
- 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM (three 12-hour shifts per week)
- Rotating days based on operational need
- 13-week contract
- Occasional float to nearby facilities as needed
Clinical Responsibilities
- Assess and document the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapy
- Administer aerosol and oxygen therapy while maintaining accurate charting
- Draw arterial blood gases per protocol and physician order
- Manage ventilator patients and provide neonatal respiratory support
- Participate in department record-keeping and training of new staff
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license (California)
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in critical care and level 2 nursery
- NICU/OB experience required
Preferred
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in respiratory care or related field
- PEARS certification
