Respiratory Care Practitioner
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Respiratory Care Practitioner to deliver critical respiratory care services across adult, geriatric, NICU, and level 2 nursery patient populations. You will work independently and support team supervision as delegated, managing both routine and complex respiratory cases in a community-based acute care setting.
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Rotating days based on operational need
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Start date: October 12, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and document appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapy
- Administer aerosol and oxygen therapy; manage ventilator patients
- Draw arterial blood gases per protocol and physician order
- Conduct pulmonary function tests and drainage procedures
- Maintain comprehensive patient charts, electronic medical records, and treatment documentation
- Provide clinical recommendations regarding patient treatment and pulmonary progress
- Participate in staff training and supervision of new employees
- Assist with department operations and record-keeping
Required Qualifications
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in California
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Minimum 2 years recent experience, including critical care and level 2 nursery/NICU experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (Master's preferred)
