Cardiac and Vascular Radiographic Technologist – Cath Lab

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Cardiac and Vascular Radiographic Technologist to join the cardiovascular interventional lab. You'll perform and assist with cardiac and vascular radiographic examinations, operate advanced diagnostic imaging equipment, and support physicians during active interventional procedures.

Shift & Schedule

7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

13-week contract

After-hours call: Every other weekend plus 2 weeknights per week (details provided at interview)

Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Operate diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast-enhanced radiographs during cardiac catheterization and specialized vascular procedures
• Position and immobilize patients using appropriate protocols and safety equipment
• Assist physicians with catheterization, angiography, and other interventional procedures
• Input technical parameters (radiation beam settings, filming sequences) per protocol
• Manage fluoroscopy and cinefluorography equipment per physician direction
• Mentor and train staff on technical skills
• Contribute to hiring and promotion decisions

Required Qualifications

• Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
• Active Radiologic Technologist (RT) license in California
• Current BLS/CPR certification from approved vendor
• Fluoroscopy certification
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), TEAM, or TEAM-A training
• Minimum 2 years recent experience in radiologic technology or special procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in radiologic technology
• 3+ years technical experience
• Prior experience as a Special Procedures Technologist
