Labor & Delivery Nurse – 13-Week Contract
The Opportunity
The facility's Labor & Delivery unit is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift position (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You'll deliver coordinated care to expectant mothers and newborns, working alongside physicians and a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Your Role
- Assess and monitor maternal and fetal health using clinical judgment and critical thinking.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients and their families.
- Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and pediatrics to ensure safe deliveries and optimal outcomes.
- Provide education and support to patients and families throughout labor, delivery, and early postpartum care.
- Participate in discharge planning and ensure continuity of care.
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff as needed.
- Float to partner facilities when required.
Requirements
- RN licensure in California (current and valid).
- Minimum two years recent acute care experience; L&D experience preferred.
- Current BLS certification from an approved vendor.
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification.
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification.
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS certification.
- BSN preferred.
- Vaccination requirements per facility policy.
Contract Details
- Shift: Night (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 or 48-hour weeks
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 12, 2026
- Location: Bakersfield, CA (with float to partner facilities as needed)
- Holiday RTO: Not approved
