Respiratory Therapist – 13-Week Contract

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join the respiratory care department. You'll provide critical respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients in an acute care setting.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM
• 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
• No set days off
• No on-call requirements
• 36 guaranteed hours per week

Clinical Responsibilities

• Assess and document the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapy
• Administer aerosol and oxygen therapy while maintaining accurate charts
• Draw arterial blood gases per policy and physician orders
• Provide care to ventilator-dependent patients
• Support department operations and assist with training of new staff
• Maintain complete treatment records and electronic medical records documentation

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential
• Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license (California)
• Minimum 2 years recent critical care experience
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current PALS certification
• Current NRP certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in respiratory care
• 3+ years technical respiratory care experience
• PEARS certification
