Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Pharmacist to join its pharmacy department. You will verify and fill medication orders, monitor patient medication therapies, provide drug information, and identify potential medication safety hazards. You'll document all interactions for medical review and supervise support personnel.

Shift & Schedule

• 4 x 10-hour shifts, primarily nights (8:30 PM – 6:30 AM)
• Day shifts (10:15 AM – 8:45 PM) available on occasion
• Rotating days off; generally 8 on / 6 off, including weekends
• Expect to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
• No on-call requirements
• 18-week contract, 40 guaranteed hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Process, enter, verify, and distribute medication orders in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
• Ensure medication therapy is safe, effective, cost-efficient, and achieves optimal outcomes
• Review prescriptions for appropriate indication, dose, route, and frequency; identify drug interactions and allergies
• Conduct daily pharmacy rounds and manage medication utilization reports
• Participate in clinical rounds and population-based medication management activities
• Maintain compliance with formulary, quality assurance, and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with clinical and operational leadership on medication safety and cost management

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of pharmacy; PharmD degree preferred
• Current Pharmacist license in California
• At least 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred
