PACU Travel Nurse – Sioux City, IA
About the Role
Join the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) as a travel nurse providing direct patient care in a fast-paced surgical recovery environment. You'll work as part of an interdisciplinary team, managing patients in the immediate post-operative period and supporting their safe transition to the next level of care.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (start times may vary between 6:30 AM and 10:00 AM)
- Every third weekend on call (12 or 24 hours), plus potential 2–4 nights weekly
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- 91-week contract | Orientation: October 12 or October 26, 2026
Clinical Details
- Float once weekly to ICU as a resource (no ICU patient management)
- May float within your discipline across local campuses
- Cross-training in ICU available
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of PACU experience (first-time travelers welcome)
- Active Iowa or compact nursing license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
- Supervisory reference form completed within the last 2 years
- Valid driver's license
- Must be at least 50 miles from the facility (based on driver's license)
