ICU Registered Nurse – Nights | Willits, CA

Contract: 16 weeks | Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Schedule: 4 x 12s, 48 hours/week

This position supports a community-based ICU in a small-town Northern California setting, delivering high-acuity nursing care across a diverse patient population. The unit manages critically ill adults, with staff expected to apply sound clinical judgment, coordinate interdisciplinary care, and lead nursing team members effectively.

Clinical Scope

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care using the nursing process
• Supervise and delegate to assigned nursing staff
• Collaborate with physicians and allied health team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide patient and family education; participate in discharge planning
• Float to the ED to cover low-census situations when needed

Shift Details

• Night shift: 1900–0730
• 48 guaranteed hours per week (4 x 12-hour shifts)
• Limited on-call due to low census; float to ER as an alternative

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active RN license (state of practice)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP — all required
• TNCC preferred

Experience & Education

• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience required
• 1 year of ICU experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Prior ICU travel or cross-training to ED is a plus
