Labor & Delivery Nurse - 13 Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse for a 13-week contract assignment. You'll deliver coordinated nursing care to pregnant patients, laboring mothers, and postpartum families in a dynamic obstetric unit. This is a night shift role (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with rotating 36- or 48-hour schedules.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and monitoring during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the broader care team to ensure safe, compassionate outcomes
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessment and clinical data
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff activities across the unit
- Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
- Evaluate patient progress and adjust care strategies as needed
- Perform all essential nursing functions within scope of practice
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in California (required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum two years recent L&D or acute care nursing experience
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
- Current BLS certification required
Additional Details
- Float availability to network locations as needed
- Holiday rotation required (no exceptions)
- Night shift assignment
